GIN has received essential support from locally based corporations and from the following regional school associations:
- Association of American School in South America (AASSA)
- Association of International Schools in Africa (AISA)
- East Asia Regional Council of International Schools (EARCOS)
- European Council of International Schools (ECIS)
The Association for the Advancement of International Education (AAIE) and the Washington International Schoolhave sponsored the Global Issues Network since 2010.
Influenced by the Global Issues Network, the National Association of Independent Schools launched Challenge 20/20 in 2006, an Internet-based program that pairs classes at any grade level (K-12) from schools in the U.S. with their counterpart classes in schools in other countries. Each team works to find local solutions of one of Mr. Rischard’s 20 global problems. Currently, there are over 500 participating schools.
